ec2-ami-tools software package provides Amazon EC2 AMI tools, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ec2-ami-tools
ec2-ami-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ec2-ami-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ec2-ami-tools *
You will get with ec2-ami-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
